Dea The Label is an independent womenswear brand based in Melbourne, Australia, specialising in tailored leather garments. Launched in 2010 by Julian Ferro as a labour of love, DEA quickly established itself as the go-to leather and co-ordinates label across Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.

As the brand expanded, so did its dedication to reducing environmental impact. DEA undertook a full reassessment of its supply chain, aiming to minimise waste and prioritise conscious production.
After many years of research, innovation and testing within their factories, DEA introduced its first sustainability-conscious collection in 2022, crafted from deadstock leathers and upcycled post-production waste—materials that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. Future collections will continue this approach, with bi-annual releases and a focus on carryover styles that reflect the brand’s thoughtful, planet-first ethos.
